Installation of Smoke Detector for Door Release as per NFPA standards

Installation of smoke detector for door release is not mandatory unless the building has a provision for smoke or fire compartment. Once the smoke/fire compartmentation is required in the building, any door opening from the fire rated wall shall be rated for fire or if that particular door is held open for normal operation, it shall be equipped with device that will automatically release the door during fire alarm condition. To do this, the device shall be activated by a smoke detector listed for that operation.

You can watch my complete video where I discussed the complete requirement in reference to NFPA standards.
